Here's some video of Lauren playing with one of her presents on christmas, she wasnt to happy because she got a lot of clothes but she loves the toys she did get and loves this vet kit from her aunt mimi (Jamie). Hopefully she doesnt become a nurse or a vet because shes kind of rough with those shots.

Lauren Pics @ 22 months Old!

We finally got some new pictures taken of Lauren

and for the first time I think she actually had fun.

She loved the photographer and kept going to talk to her

and say hi even after we were done!

That has NEVER happened!

Still Scared of Santa

As you can see in the picture below Lauren once again is terrified of people dressed up in costumes, its like Easter all over again. She is getting a little bit better though, she gave him a hug and said goodbye when we left. Hopefully she'll be better next year.

Early Christmas Pics

So since we had last week off decided to avoid the long lines and go early to get Laurens picture taken with Santa. It was GREAT there was no line which was helpfull since we had to go twice, she still isnt to fond of santa but then she gave him a hug afterwards. I'll have to post the santa pictures later but here are some of the good ones of her in her dress before we went.

After we tramautized her from seeing santa went to eat at red robin and she was back to her old self. She is growing up so quickly its amazing.

First Skating Lesson

So since we had some time off we decided to take Lauren and Jake to Tiny Tots at the Auburn Skating Rink. Lauren actually did pretty good on her own even though the smallest size skates they had were 2 sizes to big. She mostly walked holding my hands but did it on her own for a while pretty good. Then of course Jake & Joe discovered the video games so she wanted to follow them the rest of the time, but it was a pretty successfull trip and once her feet get a little bigger we are deffinetly going back again!

Lauren 10/09

Here is Lauren wearing a random outfit, I think this is what she'd wear if I let her dress herself.

She hates wearing hats when shes supposed to but she loves to play with them inside!

Hopefully by christmas she'll be a little better at knowing where things are, she still gets her eyes and ears confussed, I swear she is just meesing with me though.

Rainy weather playground

Here is a little video showing what we do when we cant go outside and play. Simply turn your couch into a playground! Doesn't everyone do that?... Lauren pretty much loves anything dangerous and fun so of course she love running and rolling down the couch cushion.

Lauren always likes to help me do the dishes so one day I just decided to let her do it on her own and you can see what happens. She has one cabinet that shes allowed to get into and its mostly full of tupperware. I guess she decided they all needed to be washed?

Halloween 2009

SO I finally had time to put some halloween pics on here. Now our little princess LOVED halloween she got the hang of it really quick especially with help from her cousins. She mostly chased them from door to door or held jacobs hand, but towards the end she was even trying to open the door if people werent quick enough and got a little greedy with her candy bucket, even though it was to heavy for her to carry. SHe didnt leave her costume on for long but here are some pics we did get.

Here are a few videos showing Laurens soccer skills, look out Team USA!!! SOrry its not the best video footage, this kind of came out of no where as we were getting ready for bed. And notice the mess of toys, I am still amazed at how quick she can get every single toy out on the floor, were still working on her putting them all back afterwards.

Lauren actually started kicking the ball against the wall by herself which is what started this whole "training session" last night. She gets a little better every day! She definetly has the soccer genes.

pumpkin cleaner

So shes not the best pumpkin cleaner outer!This was the first pumpkin we did and as you can see she was reluctant to help, but the next two she helped by holding the spoon and picking up anything that fell off the table and throwing it away.

Pumkin Time 2009!

So we finally made some time to go to the pumpkin patch, its only 1/2 mile from our house so it was actually pretty easy. Besides the pumpkins they had tons of stuff to do; a petting zoo, pony rides, a corn maze, and tons of other stuff. Lauren petted the ponies but wouldnt ride them and she watched the goats for a minute but then she saw this big lion statue and thought it was zizou (it was super cute) she petted it and talked to it for about 10 minutes. Thanks Joe for holding her up there the whole time.

After the zizou/lion petting session, we moved on to the coloring area. She colored a pretty picture but mostly she tried to get every single crayon out of the box, just like she does at home!

She loves to put her face through these but of course daddy had to stand back there so she'd stay long enough to get her picture taken. She kept putting her head through the little hand holes, I guess they are more her size.

On to her favorite thing of the day PUSHING THE WHEELBARROW!

She LOVES to push and pick up heavy things (I think she gets that from the west side of the family, ie: uncle Joey&Gpa Jim) Of course she couldnt actually move it, so daddy had to help a little.


On the way back to the car she saw another fun toy, in fact it was the noisiest toy ever! She of course loved it! It was actually a pretty good idea for reusing old car parts, etc... The kids loved it!

After that daddy won the slingshot pumpkin contest so we got a HUGE pumpkin for free to take home (we could barely pick it up by ourselves) but hey it was free! On the way to return the wheelbarrow we ignored the safety signs and let Lauren ride in it!

After a tough day at the pumpkin patch we were cleaning out some old clothes when Lauren decided it would be fun to climb in her laundry hamper, for some reason she though it was fun & hilarious!

But of course she would freak out when she couldnt get out of it!

Later that weekend Lauren helped us clean and carve the pumpkins, more pictures of our October adventures to come........................

Lo Wat - October

This is kind of our normal after work/weeknight routine before bedtime and for some reason Lauren always manages to make a mess. Now that she can open the baby wipes she likes to use them to clean her babies and daddy (He must be really dirty after work) in fact she does this to Joe a lot but to no one else, hmmmm take a hint joe. You'll also see shes not much of a golfer, so hopefully she can stick with soccer, which she is actually pretty good at (for a 20 month old). Not the most exciting video but hopefully well get some better footage since the holidays are coming, for now this is all i could find! Just wait until you see what shes going to be for halloween!

Dancing Machine

Another quick video below. Normally Lauren doesnt even notice the TV, but if there is music or dancing on she loves it. The other day we watched a few minutes of the show So You Think You Can DANCE and she loved it! She dances non-stop except for a random cookie break here and there. She may have to be a dancer & a soccer player!

Laurens "Babies"

As you can see Lauren likes to have every single one of her toys out when its play time, its hard to keep them all put away for long. She is just gettting into dolls which she calls her babies. She loves babies and is really sweet to them, so hopefully she'll be helpfull when her little sibling comes next march. Its hard to get any good video of her since once she sees a camera she usually drops what shes doing and wants to play with it, but I did get her trying to change her babies diaper. She does this probably a couple times a day with her 2 favorite "babies", she can now open the wipe container which I have had to hide from her since she will use about 20 each time, But she will wipe down the baby and "try" to put on a new diaper, its pretty cute how she figured it out. Then she'll usually try and feed the baby and pushes it around in the stroller, those babies keep her pretty busy.

Jake & Laurens Band

We watched Jake (Laurens Cousin) for a while last night and we got quite a bit of video footage of them. Lauren is still working on her dance moves and hope to move up to backup singer soon. Look for them playing soon somewhere near you!

Tillicum Village

So during our week off in early august we took a day trip up to seattle. We decided to spend the day roaming seattle and visited the aquarium and our favorite burger place dicks! We also strolled the waterfront, went on the carousel and went to Tillicum Village for dinner, it was a long but fun filled day!

Here Lauren is enjoying her first Dicks hamburger, I think she liked the fries even better, shes not really a burger girl yet.

She loved putting her head through here, she would have done it all day if we would have let her.

At Tillicum Village after dinner she ran around the island, as you can see by her dirtly litte booty she also went adventuring off the trail, but shes still running (training).

The one family picture that turned out ok, after all the running Lauren didnt want to stop so it was tough to get her to sit still for a picture which is pretty much always the case.

Before getting back on the boat back to seattle, and we also found out on this trip that Lauren LOVEs Clams just like her mommy, she definetly gets that from the Martin side!

Montana 2009

So we FINALLY were able to get some vacation time and get over to Montana, like we used to do all the time. We found a rental house in Superior, MT, which is right on the Montana/Idaho border. It was a huge house right on the river and we were lucky enough to have the rodeo and Mineral County fair going on that same weekend. We didnt get a ton of pictures because Lauren was fussy the whole weekend and I kept leaving the camera at home, but here are a few we did get.
